COI Projects

Special Collections COI projects:

 

  • Boston Busing and Desegregation project. A 2016-current board-funded project for the creation of a Boston public school desegregation collaborative digital collection. This project includes four BLC libraries: Northeastern, UMass Boston, Boston College and the State Library of Massachusetts. Click here for more information.

 

  • Metadata Consultancy Project. A 2016 board-funded consultant position was created which worked with interested BLC libraries in preparing digital collections for ingest into the Digital Commonwealth and the Digital Public Library of America. Jessica M. Sedgwick was hired as the Metadata Project Manager for the BLC and assisted with recommendations for metadata creation and cleanup projects. 

 

  • Wikipedia workshop and hackathon. on April 1, 2015 at Northeastern University with a focus on Special Collections and Archives.

 

  • Special Collections members survey. A December 2013 survey resulting in 14 member library respondents reporting on their current projects, planned projects, and collections management infrastructure within archives and special collections. See the results of the survey here.
